The year is 2000. Dreamcast (one of the best consoles EVAH btw) was still with us. And Ryo Hazuki witnesses his father getting his ass kicked and getting murdered.

And so begins one of the best game ever. Shenmue. Controlling Ryo you go around kicking ass and taking names in pursuit of Lan Di.

Need for Speed World is the first freemium MMORG in the Need for Speed series.

Freemium.

I get chills just by saying that...

Alan Wake PC - Steam all the way

Alan Wake is coming to the PC courtesy of Steam.

Scheduled for release in early 2012 the game that originated on Xbox 360 will get some upgrades.

VGA Part 2

Finishing up the VGA's topic all there is left to report are the awards themselfs. No fun in that but whatever.

VGA 2011

The Video Game Awards passed and the age old question of "What is the Game of the Year" was finally settled. At least for the ones that voted for that nominee.

And it wasn't CoD nor Battlefield that won...

The winner was The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

But that isn't what matters in the VGA's. Nope. What we want are trailers! Lots of them.

Serious Troll 3: BFE - Troll Harder

A couple of days back we talked about Steve, the mad red scorpion on crack that will rip you to pieces if you pirate Serious Sam 3. But that wasn't the only surprise Croteam had.

They like their game so much they want you to pay attention to the awesome sky detail.

Miyamoto's getting old

Yesterday some bombastic news hit the Internet.

Shigeru Miyamoto... was retiring.

In an interview with Wired.com he said that he will move away from supervising the development of massive games passing the torch to the younger designers in the company and working on projects that won’t take as long to complete.

- That's it. I'm out -

The reaction was easy to predict.

Serious Troll 3: BFE

The manly game Serious Sam 3 BFE was already a topic here. But now that it's released, people are playing. And people are talking about it. And people are making videos of it. Videos like this one.

Holy crap. Is that a boss? Well... no... Here's what happening.

"Jeb" is in the house

Just now Jens "Jeb" Bergensten was put in front of the pixel train called Minecraft and already he is showing the will to do stuff.

- The will to work is strong on this one -

EA does it again.

Tetris. The old-school game (really old).

And EA just released a new version for the iOS.

But...

- Wait for it... -

Notch passes the lead

"As of yesterday, Jens Bergensten is the new lead developer on Minecraft. He will have the final say in all design decisions, so he will kinda sorta become my boss, I guess."

As long as he keeps his hands on the game it will work out ok. Right? Right?

"Personally, I will now rest for a while, then get back to work refreshed and eager. I’ll be helping out with Minecraft, of course, but also starting work on some new project."
