Weekend Videos

And so the year ends and we take a moment to remind some of the good games that we had.

Another one after the jump.

29 December 2011

Shadow of a Soul - Poopy time part 2

Some of you tried the great game called Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

And many crapped their pants while playing. The game had a great atmosphere and it really was a good horror experience.

Sega Y U NO make Shenmue 3

The year is 2000. Dreamcast (one of the best consoles EVAH btw) was still with us. And Ryo Hazuki witnesses his father getting his ass kicked and getting murdered.

And so begins one of the best game ever. Shenmue. Controlling Ryo you go around kicking ass and taking names in pursuit of Lan Di.

21 December 2011

Need for Speed World... of the Rich

Ahhh EA. You just keep giving me topics to talk about.

Need for Speed World is the first freemium MMORG in the Need for Speed series.

I get chills just by saying that...

So. What do they sell in the game? Like 0.70$ for a track or a car part?

20 December 2011

Alan Wake PC - Steam all the way

Alan Wake is coming to the PC courtesy of Steam.

Scheduled for release in early 2012 the game that originated on Xbox 360 will get some upgrades.

So lets talk about the most important ones:

2011 GOTY - TIME edition

2011 is almost over. Everyone is doing one of those "Game of the Year" list. And I like showing them. Easier than making my own.

So what did TIME choose to make an appearance in the list?

Check them out.

16 December 2011

Weekend Videos

Time to get some rest and cry deeply because Valve keeps toying about Half Life.

And a bonus one:

15 December 2011

Half Life 3 Release: Tinfoil Edition

Alright everyone. Put you tinfoil hats on. It's conspiracy time.

- They walk among us -

There have been certain "events" that led some to believe Valve will be saying something about Half Life 3 pretty soon. That or maybe we just have too much time in our hands and see signs everywhere.

It all started with a tshirt...

14 December 2011

VGA Part 2

Finishing up the VGA's topic all there is left to report are the awards themselfs. No fun in that but whatever.

13 December 2011

VGA 2011

The Video Game Awards passed and the age old question of "What is the Game of the Year" was finally settled. At least for the ones that voted for that nominee.

And it wasn't CoD nor Battlefield that won...

- Shocking right? -

The winner was The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

But that isn't what matters in the VGA's. Nope. What we want are trailers! Lots of them.

Check them out below.

12 December 2011

Serious Troll 3: BFE - Troll Harder

A couple of days back we talked about Steve, the mad red scorpion on crack that will rip you to pieces if you pirate Serious Sam 3. But that wasn't the only surprise Croteam had.

They like their game so much they want you to pay attention to the awesome sky detail.
Isn't that considerate? Thank you Croteam.

Now excuse me while i throw up after watching that video. Damn spinning.

09 December 2011

You know what time it is. It's time to open the door, get on the floor, everyone walk the dinosaur.

08 December 2011

Miyamoto's getting old

Yesterday some bombastic news hit the Internet.

Shigeru Miyamoto... was retiring.

In an interview with Wired.com he said that he will move away from supervising the development of massive games passing the torch to the younger designers in the company and working on projects that won’t take as long to complete.

- That's it. I'm out -
The reaction was easy to predict.

07 December 2011

Serious Troll 3: BFE

The manly game Serious Sam 3 BFE was already a topic here. But now that it's released, people are playing. And people are talking about it. And people are making videos of it. Videos like this one.

Holy crap. Is that a boss? Well... no... Here's what happening.

06 December 2011

"Jeb" is in the house

Just now Jens "Jeb" Bergensten was put in front of the pixel train called Minecraft and already he is showing the will to do stuff.
- The will to work is strong on this one -

05 December 2011

EA does it again.

Tetris. The old-school game (really old).
And EA just released a new version for the iOS.

- Wait for it... -

02 December 2011

Notch passes the lead

"As of yesterday, Jens Bergensten is the new lead developer on Minecraft. He will have the final say in all design decisions, so he will kinda sorta become my boss, I guess."
As long as he keeps his hands on the game it will work out ok. Right? Right?
"Personally, I will now rest for a while, then get back to work refreshed and eager. I’ll be helping out with Minecraft, of course, but also starting work on some new project."

Wooooo Friday.

01 December 2011

Zero Punctuation

I know it's not Friday. BUT (teehee. but) I wanted to share this video with you guys. I might as well make it a regular post so everyone keeps up to date with some of these sites.

30 November 2011

That's no Moon!

Speaking about Star Wars: The Old Republic Activision Blizzard's CEO Bobby Kotick has questioned whether BioWare's upcoming MMOG will make any money for publisher EA.

 - Dementia finally kicked in -

How can he say it when the game is called "WoW killer" and many of the Warcraft players already left and are eagerly awaiting Star Wars?

It's from the same company. How can it not work?

29 November 2011

The other side of the coin

 Today's topic? Piracy. Again!!

- Oh don't be like that -

Serious Sam 3 developer, Fork Parker, commented that Serious Sam 3 "combats piracy by being a fun, frantic game and offers wild ass 16-player campaign co-op."

And he has got more.

28 November 2011

What did you call me?

Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Know that game? Want it for the PC? Too bad.

Instead PC gamers get Ghost Recon Online.

‘Why’, you ask? Senior producer Sebastien Arnoult has the answers. Or at least, some answers. “When we started Ghost Recon Online we were thinking about Ghost Recon: Future Solider; having something ported in the classical way without any deep development, because we know that 95 per cent of our consumers will pirate the game.”

25 November 2011

Another week, another video. Have fun.

And a bonus one:

24 November 2011

Good news everyone

Gamestop will stop selling used games. At least in Canada.

- WWWoooooooooo -

Wait. What's that?

What they are stopping is the distinction between "new" and "used" games (at least in Canada)?

23 November 2011

Game Group shares plummet

The experts of "Sure we'll buy your game. Here's 5 bucks" and then resell the game for 45$ saw their share fall 57%.

On November 16 the company announced that instead of full-year revenue being between flat and three per cent down from last year, it expected it to fall by at least seven per cent.

- I'm sure the results were that good.... yeah.... -

22 November 2011

LoL is bigger then WoW

But aren't both a 3 letter word?

I'm talking about League of Legends and World of Warcraft.

League of Legends has surpassed 11 million active players, giving it a bigger number of players than World of Warcraft’s 10.3 million and having more than four times Skyrim’s 250,000 concurrent PC players

A huge infographic follows just to help get a better scale of things.

21 November 2011

Telltale tell us a tale

This is the tale of Telltale that decided to tell the tale of how awesome their game is.

So they decided to put matters into their own hands.

18 November 2011

Friday finally arrived! I'll leave you with Devil May Cry Movie trailer.

- Looks good -

17 November 2011

Nintendo Y U NO make Mario Party Deluxe

Anyone that hosted a party and had a Nintendo console to help entertain the guest certainly knows about Mario Party.

- Just look at them eager to beat each other up to earn coins and stars -

Released first in the Nintendo 64 and making its way all to the Wii, the game is known for its party game elements, including the often-unpredictable multiplayer modes that allow play with up to four (and sometimes eight) human players. Imagine playing Monopoly with your friends but between turns you go outside to skateboard between flaming pillars of death and jumping rivers just to see who got extra paper money in the next round.

- Not as friendly as you imagine -

15 November 2011

Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 3 (Singleplayer)

It's time for Battlefield Modern Warfare 3.

Me first feeling about the game, at least for the first couple of hours, was pretty much the same as for Battlefield.

But then.

11 November 2011

Fun fun fun fun. Looking forward to the weekend?

- Put barrel on all things! -

Have fun with the Modern Warfare's and the Skyrim's everyone.

Steam - You too?

Hide your accounts, hide your credit cards cause they hacking errbody out here.

 - Not you too Antoine!!! -

The target this time was Steam.

10 November 2011

Modern Warfare 3. I'm sure this one will be real life.

Now it's time for Battlefield 3 Modern Warfare 3.

- Still can't pick then apart -

And thus continues the battle of "x platform has totally better graphics bro".

Let us see shall we?

09 November 2011

2012 GOTY announced

Wow. Just now we decided that Battlefield Skyrim Zelda Modern Warfare 3 was the game of the year and a bomb fell when they announced the 2012 GOTY.

"As we focus on 2012, we have a strong product pipeline which features a minimum of two highly-anticipated new titles from Blizzard Entertainment, including Diablo III, and a new Call of Duty game from Activision Publishing," Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement accompanying the publisher's quarterly report.

The damn game prints so much money they decided to keep it going.
I guess people like map packs that much.

1.1 11-11-11 !!!111!!!oneoneoneeleven

11-11-11 is going to be a big day.

 - Man I can't wait -

But something else is coming out.

08 November 2011

Bioware - Why isn't this on private mode?

Bioware made an oopsie.

- Oh oh -

Mass Effect 3 Beta was released to some Xbox Live subscribers. Was it supposed to? No. The reason?

07 November 2011

Karma sucks

Battlefield GOTY Modern Warfare 3 is up to a rough start. 6000 copies where stolen from a truck.

- Oh no -

TFI news reports that the truck that was transporting the precious cargo suffered a collision with a car on saturday morning in Créteil, south Paris, before two masked individuals emerged.

Modern Warfare 3 aims for the stars

Gamesindustry reports that Battlefield Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is expected to make 1.1 billion dollars in its first six weeks.

- Daring -

Maybe Battlefield Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will bring something new. I don't now. Like helicopters tanks cutscenes quick time events hero main protagonist russians cats? Hell if I know.

But it is off to a good start since there are people paying 1000$ for it.

04 November 2011

Happy weekend

Another week that passes. Everyone ready for the great gaming month still ahead of us? I sure am.

Duke Nukem isn't that bad?

Brian Martel (one of the dudes at Gearbox) claimed: "Everybody should really be thankful that it existed to some degree at all", when talking about that major (failure) game: Duke Nukem Forever.

- Don´t bet on this Duke. Bad idea -

But what where they expecting? Not the low scores thats for sure: "I think that if we were going to review the reviews fairly, no."

Battlefield 3 (Multiplayer)

"Headcrab, Headcrab. You're just talking about Battlefield 3 Singleplayer. The true value is in multiplayer." Yeah yeah. Fine. I'm talking about Battlefield 3 again. You're lucky Modern Warfare Generic Shooter 3 Part 2 hasn't come out yet.

So let's do this. Battlefield 3. Again.

- Oh boy -

03 November 2011

Steve Jobs is what?

Look. Let me get this out of the way first. I got nothing against the man. But seriously...

Top five people to have shaped video games:
  1. Steve Jobs
  2. Gabe Newel
  3. Shigeru Miyamoto
  4. Tim Berners-Lee
  5. Mark Zuckerberg

But we just want to help

As everyone knows EA makes you install Origin and jump through a bunch of hops just to play Battlefield 3.

- Good... good my pets -

But those that want to play without Origin just got a present.

02 November 2011

Oh right. GTA V

Would you look at the time? It's trailer o'clock.

The Headcrab Reviews: Battlefield 3 (Singleplayer)

So I've finally completed Battlefield 3 campaign, and am now ready to review. Despite the bugs, bland story and overall been there done that feeling, I bravely ventured into the game, and now will share my thoughts with everyone.

But be warned: This review will most likely change your whole life. Forget everything you've learned and get ready to get you socks knocked off. And I don't mean in a "wow that was pretty true". No no no no no.

I mean in a "holy crap my whole life is now turned upside down". You children will feel the ripple effects of this review. Your grandchildren will feel it. Your great grandchildren will probably miss it but your great great grandchildren will be all like "Jesus Christ my mind is blown".

- Holy crap this is so hardcore -

So are you ready? Are you ready to hear what is my opinion on one of this years Game of the Year contender? Are you ready to know how this ultra modern with state of the art graphics and snizzle fares in this modern world?

So here we go. Read on and find the truth... if you dare.

01 November 2011

You play - Alley Cat

Today I'm bringing everyone what I remember as the first game I ever played.

- Alley Cat -

31 October 2011

Battlefield 3. Is this real life?

The super dupper mega Call of Duty Battlefield 3 came out.

- Always get them mixed up. Can´t imagine why -

And thus begins the battle of "x platform has totally better graphics bro".

Let us see shall we?

28 October 2011

Slow week this one. But have no fear, the weekend is here.

26 October 2011

Nintendo stopped?

Reports show that the evil behemoth of gaming is slowing down.

- America. F*** yeah!!! -

But it wasn't the feds who did it.

24 October 2011

Damn pirates

Damn pirates are at it again.

The target? Saints Row: The Third.

21 October 2011

The time as come again to head to a well deserved rest. Have a great weekend everyone.

- Damn Raiden is so cool -

Doom Forever

Doom 3 sequel, I shall name it Doom Forever, has been "postponed indefinitely".

- No. I'm pretty sure that's how you spell Doom -

19 October 2011

EA you so crazy

Battlefield 3 is almost upon us and people are eager to play it. And reviewers to review it.

So "Press Fire/Dagbladet", "Gamer.no" and "Gamereactor" asked for some copies of the game to review. What they got was a questionnaire.

In my opinion the questions are quite normal...

You play

Not a lot of news so far today so I'll take a moment to give you guys something to play. It's kinda old but the game is... How should i put it.... Well see for yourselfs. Enviro-Bear 2000 will blow your minds.

 - Graphicky -

18 October 2011

It begins

Half-Life 2 Episode 3 is finally coming.

- 2 more months everyone -

Reality Gaming

According to The Gadget Show: "Centred on the world's first, portable omni-directional treadmill (designed by Swedish company MSE Weibull) the simulator lets you control the movements of a Battlefield 3 character with your own body. Other key technology employed includes: 12 paintball markers that allow the player, in real time, to feel the enemy gunfire experienced in the game; a wireless gun system; ambient LED lighting; and an Xbox Kinect camera hack."

So.... much.... want....

17 October 2011

Deus EX Pirates made usefull

It seems the people that pirated Deus EX: Human Revolution, had a bit of a surprise.

Usually the only thing they do is go click on a link for the game/movie/song/anything they want, watch the little bar go up and when it reaches 100% it's time to enjoy the free booty.

 - Yarr those bastards -

But now...
